Hi, I’m Amanda, Centre Director of Busy Bees at Airport West, and I’ve been working in early learning since 2011.
Busy Bees at Airport West offers a comforting childcare environment where children feel inspired to explore and grow at their own pace.
Our purpose-designed learning spaces foster creativity and collaboration, while our programs also include plenty of outdoor playtime to ensure children remain active.
We celebrate the diverse cultures of the local community at our Airport West childcare centre. Children develop an understanding of the world around them as they develop both academically and socially.

Our Airport West childcare curriculum is age-appropriate, meaning it supports your child through every stage of their development.

Centre Director – 15+ years of experience
“I love mentoring educators while supporting children and families through the many milestones of the early years.” My passion for early childhood education started with a grade 10 work placement, and I began my career in 2011. Since then, I've been fortunate to grow through a range of roles, from educator to Centre Director. Today, Busy Bees at Airport West feels like a second home, with our children, families, educators and community at the heart of everything we do. Together we've created a welcoming village filled with support, care and plenty of fun. I'm originally from a rural town in South Australia's Riverland and now I enjoy raising my two young children in Melbourne.

“I'm proud to work alongside a diverse team that values every child's voice and celebrates the cultures, families and community that make our centre so special.” Supporting young children as they learn, grow and discover their potential is what first inspired my career in early learning. After beginning my teaching journey in 2021, I've found just as much joy in mentoring educators and creating a positive, supportive and respectful environment where children and teams can thrive together. Before becoming a teacher, dance gave me the opportunity to perform in everything from Carols by Candlelight to the Australian Open, and it's still something I love today.

“I love building genuine relationships with families and sharing in every stage of their child's journey.” Watching children grow from their very first day to the moment they head off to school is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. I began my early learning career in 2017. What makes Busy Bees at Airport West so special is our village, where children, families, educators and the wider community are all connected and support one another. I'm a passionate AFL fan, so outside the centre you'll usually find me cheering on my beloved Essendon Bombers.
