Why you will love our centre

Centre Manager

Hi, I'm Andrea, Centre Director at Busy Bees at Caversham. One of the things you'll love most about our centre is watching children challenge themselves in our unique outdoor nature playground. Whether climbing the signature rocks, exploring the natural environment or testing their abilities through adventurous play, children build resilience, independence and confidence every day.

Our highly qualified team, including two Early Childhood Teachers, extends this learning through meaningful experiences that develop curiosity, problem-solving, communication, literacy and numeracy. Children also enjoy hands-on science investigations into volcanoes, tornadoes, tsunamis and other natural disasters, bringing big ideas to life in exciting, age-appropriate ways.

Our homely, community-focused centre is a place where every child is known and supported as an individual. Through strong relationships with families and learning shaped around each child’s strengths and interests, we help children feel capable, connected and ready for their next step.

Andrea

Centre Director

A conversation with one of my daughter's educators changed my career forever. After feeling unfulfilled in an office administration role, I began my early learning journey in 2013 and quickly discovered where I belonged. What keeps me passionate is the genuine relationships we build with children, families and educators every day. I believe every child deserves to be recognised as an individual, empowered through empathy, care and strong connections to become the very best version of themselves. Although I'm new to Busy Bees at Caversham, I was immediately struck by the warmth of our families and the dedication of our educators. Outside of work, you'll often find my daughter and me training together in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Educational Leader

Becoming a mum to my neurodivergent son inspired my early learning journey, which began in 2013. His experiences taught me that every child learns, communicates and experiences the world differently, shaping my passion for creating inclusive environments where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. As Educational Leader, I love watching children's curiosity come to life and sharing in the everyday moments of joy, wonder and discovery that make early childhood so special. Outside of work, I'm a proud Kiwi who loves running, swimming and spending time with my son. Just don't ask me to bake a cake... somehow it's always burnt on the outside and undercooked in the middle!
