Hi, I'm Amanda, Centre Director at Busy Bees at Grovedale daycare and kindergarten. One of the things you'll love most about our centre is that every educator knows every child and family, regardless of which room they work in. Those genuine relationships, built by our long-standing team, create a true sense of belonging where children feel safe, supported and at home.
Our homely, nurturing environment encourages children to explore at their own pace through flexible, child-led learning shaped by their interests, personalities and family input. Indoor-outdoor learning gives children the freedom to choose where they play, discover and grow each day.
Our much-loved mascots, Murray the turtle and Taco the axolotl, are often the first stop for children each morning, bringing smiles, excitement and plenty of conversation to the day. Together, our caring educators, welcoming atmosphere and strong family partnerships create a place where children feel confident, connected and excited to learn.

I began my early learning career in 2005 because I wanted to support, nurture and encourage children’s learning during the years that shape them most. Seeing children achieve important milestones, while building strong, trusting relationships with their families, continues to inspire me every day. I also love supporting educators to grow and achieve their own professional goals, because early learning is an industry where we’re always learning together. At Busy Bees at Grovedale, our supportive team and the strong connections we’ve built with families create a warm, welcoming community where everyone belongs. Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of three who loves travelling and exploring new places with my family.

I began my early learning journey in 2013 as an Assistant Educator before progressing into Lead Educator roles and becoming an Educational Leader. I’m passionate about creating nurturing, engaging and inclusive learning environments where every child feels safe, valued and supported to grow. Building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families is something I truly value, and I strive to be a welcoming and supportive person for everyone in our community. I feel privileged to be part of each child’s learning journey and love bringing curiosity, fun and connection into every day. Outside of work, I really enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, going on adventures and keeping active through sport.

My early learning journey began in 2022, building on more than a decade of experience working in education across different countries. I've always been passionate about supporting young children as they learn, grow and develop, and I love knowing that every role plays a part in creating an environment where children, families and educators can thrive. What I love most about Busy Bees at Grovedale is our welcoming team and the warm, supportive community we've built together. Born and raised in Japan, I later studied and worked in the United States before moving to Australia, experiences that gave me a deep appreciation for different cultures and education systems. Outside of work, I love travelling, discovering new cuisines and spending time with my three boys.
