Hi, I’m Helen and I’ve been working in the early learning sector since 2005.
Busy Bees Hocking is a multicultural childcare environment where experienced educators build lasting relationships with children and their families.
Children take part in a range of activities, from KIDDO physical education to cooking experiences, local excursions and classroom learning in our newly renovated centre.

Centre Director – 21+ years of experience
“Every day brings a new adventure, whether that's supporting children, mentoring educators or building trusted relationships with families.” My passion for early learning began when I was a child, always playing teacher and caring for my dolls. Since beginning my career in 2005, I've grown from Educator to Curriculum Leader and now Centre Director, spending almost a decade as part of the Hocking community. What keeps me passionate is watching the people around me grow, develop and succeed. What I love most about Busy Bees at Hocking is our family spirit. It feels like a close-knit community where children, families and educators all belong. Outside of work, I enjoy music, spending time with my family and catching up with friends.

“I love the wonderful families and supportive team at Busy Bees at Hocking, who make every day rewarding.” After 20 years in the real estate industry, I was ready for a career that felt meaningful. While volunteering as a parent helper at my children's kindergarten, I discovered how much I loved supporting children's learning and development, inspiring me to begin my early learning journey in 2020. As Educational Leader, I'm passionate about mentoring educators as they grow in confidence and develop their skills, while celebrating every child's learning journey. Outside of work, I enjoy planning family holidays, travelling and experiencing different cultures.

“I love bringing organisation to my role behind the scenes while knowing I'm helping create an environment where children can learn, thrive and grow.” Working in a child-focused learning environment had always been my dream, and I began my early learning career in 2008. One of the things I love most about Busy Bees at Hocking is our incredible team spirit. The laughter that fills our centre creates a happy atmosphere, and it's wonderful to see how positively the children respond. Outside of work, I treasure spending time with my daughters and my grandson, who are at the heart of everything I do.
