Hi, I'm Candice, Centre Director at Busy Bees at Lakelands. One of the things you'll love most about our centre is the trust we've built with local families. Our long-standing educator team provides the familiar faces children see every day, creating a nurturing, reliable environment where every child feels safe, valued and welcome.
Families often comment on the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals as they arrive, with our open kitchen creating opportunities to chat with the cook each morning. Children love exploring our large outdoor playground, especially the impressive slide that's become a favourite for many local families.
We make the most of our fantastic location opposite the library and shopping centre through regular excursions for every age group, including babies. Whether attending Rhyme Time, exploring STEM activities or supporting families through our Feed It Forward community pantry, we're committed to creating meaningful connections where every child and family belongs.

Centre Director
I began my early learning career in 2006 and have loved being passionate about supporting children through their most important years ever since. Over the years, I’ve progressed through a variety of roles, from Room Leader and Curriculum Leader to Centre Director, while mentoring educators to become the best version of themselves. Watching children grow in confidence, develop new skills and reach important milestones continues to inspire me every day. What I love most about Busy Bees at Lakelands is our strong sense of community, where children, families and educators are supported to thrive together. Outside of work, I’m a volunteer Deputy Team Leader with the State Emergency Service, supporting our local community, and I love spending time outdoors with my daughters.

Educational Leader
Supporting children’s growth inspired me to begin my early learning journey in 2021, and over time I discovered a passion for curriculum, mentoring educators and creating meaningful learning experiences. As Educational Leader, I love supporting both children and educators, celebrating new discoveries, overcoming challenges and watching confidence grow. What I love most about Busy Bees at Lakelands is the genuine sense of belonging. From the moment families walk through our doors, they’re welcomed into a community where relationships are valued, successes are celebrated and everyone learns from one another. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, exploring new places and cultures, and spending time with my family, especially outdoors by the beach or in nature.

I began my early learning journey in 2020 and have worked across educator, administration and leadership roles, giving me a wonderful understanding of how we can support children, families and educators together. Building relationships and helping make a family's day a little easier is what I love most about my role, whether it's offering support, answering questions or celebrating a child's latest milestone. What I value most about Busy Bees at Lakelands is our genuine sense of community and the way everyone works together to create a warm, welcoming environment. Originally from England, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, helping run our family carpentry business, keeping active and taking on home renovation projects.
