Hi, My name is Cumi and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at O’Connor. After qualifying as a teacher in South Africa, I spent 11 years in the UK, working in several Early Childhood and Primary School settings across the East End of London. This is also where I met my husband and after 11 years in the UK, we decided to return home. In South Africa, I worked in a Reggio Primary School and learnt how important it is for children to construct their own learning, express themselves and engage in meaningful experiences.
Then one day, my husband got a job offer in Perth, Australia and we have been here since 2011. I have worked in several Early Years settings and Primary Schools across WA, NSW and the NT. My most recent role was Head of Early Learning at a school in Darwin. I believe that children are a precious gift and that they hold the future in their hands, we are honored to spend our days with them, guiding them on their learning journey, becoming effective and engaged learners. But we can only do this in partnership with the families. So come on Mums and Dads, the children are our future, but you are our present. Let’s do this together!
Nurturing responsive relationships are our primary focus for our nursery children.
Your child's keen sense of discovery is supported through the creation of fun environments that ignite their curiosities.
Your toddler will be encouraged to explore to build resilience, vital social skills and independence in our purpose built environments.
Teaching Practitioners develop a stimulating approach to learning by supporting the children with an educational program that is challenging, insightful, consultative, giving them a head start as they prepare for school.
