My name is Katherine Hellwig and I am the Acting Service Manager at Busy Bees at The Park. I have been working in the ACT Early Education and Care sector for over 22 years. My skills and experience prominently are in managing long day care centres for a not for profit organisation, however I have worked as a Nanny, in Outside of School Hours Care and Holiday programs. I have an Undergraduate Certificate in Service Management and have complemented this further with a Diploma of Leadership and Management.
I have a strong pedagogical belief that all children have the right to access quality Early Learning in the first five years of life. My role as a Service Manager is to lead a team that is passionate about the care of children and their learning. My leadership philosophy is to lead with integrity, empathy, collaboratively, and provide Educators and Teaching Practitioners with opportunities for empowerment. Fundamental to this is using a holistic approach drawing on the National Quality Framework to guide our work with children.
I look forward to meeting you and starting our journey of learning together!
