Service Manager
Hello, my name is Angela Robinson and I am the Service Manager of Busy Bee at Altona Meadows.
I have been working in the Early Years Education and Care sector for 10 years beginning my journey as a school-based trainee when I was in grade 10 then gradually making my way up the sector to now be a Service Manager. Through these years I have had many job titles from Educator, Lead Educator, Kindergarten Teacher, Educational Leader and 2IC. Through all of these roles, I have explored many learning practices and theorists, and I strongly believe in Vygotsky theory of sociocultural theory and that children learn through meaningful social interactions with all stakeholders of their development. Embracing the children’s views and choices in their own development and learning and ensuring we as Early Childhood professionals extend on their choices to give them the best start in life.
A lot of my programming and planning style is based on not only children’s interests, family involvement, and cultural inclusion but also on the Rights of the Child. The United Nations’ Rights of a Child is an important document that is to be embedded in all of our practices as Early Childhood professionals.
I have many hobbies including physical activity, cooking and embracing my sense of adventure. Being new to Victoria I am hoping to extend of my hobbies and discover more of this amazing state. I can’t not wait to get to know more about this state, as well as the community surrounding Altona Meadows.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Melissa Bragg and I am the 2IC at Busy Bees at Altona Meadows.
I started in the industry as a trainee, have worked my way through to an Assistant Educator, Lead Educator and now my current role as Assistant Director. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary to expand my understanding and knowledge of children.
I believe children thrive in play-based learning environments where they are free to create, explore and gain a better understanding of the world around them. I am passionate about providing inclusive learning spaces and welcoming all diversities, cultures, and religions; whilst meeting the individual needs of each child physically and emotionally.
My motivation is most definitely my two young boys who keep us very busy. We love travelling, road tripping, sightseeing, cooking, eating, and listening to music. I look forward to welcoming you into the Service and our Busy Bees family at Altona Meadows.
The change of ownership has been great for the centre and they have some fantastic staff that my son adores. The centre is clean and they have some great new resources available for the children and families.
Children seem happy and my girl loves going there and has good bonds with the educators and her peers. A great local centre, definitely happy to recommend.
We have always found the staff friendly, caring and helpful, having the children’s best interests at heart. Thank you team Busy Bees!
After trying another one in the area beforehand I can tell you emphatically this is the place to choose for your little ones 100%! The kindergarten program is stellar thanks to their incredible teacher.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community.
