Service Manager
Welcome Families, my name is Deborah Powell and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Bentley Park. I have 16 years’ experience working in a variety of roles in the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector.
My career began as I completed high school and discovered I was passionate about working with young children. My training and career began at the local childcare service my youngest sister attended and where I completed a Certificate III followed by a Diploma in Children’s Services.
My overall goal as a Service Manager is to advocate for children’s safety, learning and development in the early years which lays the foundation for children’s lifelong learning.
Busy Bees at Bentley Park pride ourselves on our community approach believing wholeheartedly that “Community is about doing something together that makes belonging matter” – Brian Solis. As a team, we strive to ensure that each person who walks through the door feels a connection to our Service and a sense of belonging to the space. We endeavour to provide a Service where feedback and open communication is encouraged and valued.
We are always striving to provide the best quality education and care to every child. We welcome you to drop in at any time to find out more about our Service and the high-quality education and care we offer.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Aleesha Hopkins and I have stepped into the Assistance Service Manager role whilst Meg is on maternity leave.
My experience with the early education and care sector began in high school where I completed my Certificate III, closely followed by a Diploma of Early Education and Care. Currently, I am studying my Bachelor of Education (Early Years). I am passionate about keeping up to date with relevant information regarding children’s learning and development to become the best version of myself for the children and families in my care.
I have a particular interest in inclusion and am driven to find new and innovative ways to provide children with additional strategies to support their self-regulation, language skills and cognitive development.
In my role as an educator, I believe that children are capable and successful learners when provided opportunities that challenge them to perform at a high expectation. Furthermore, children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. My goal as an early years educator is to provide children with a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning, and feel free to express themselves.
As a mother myself, I approach the families in my care with empathy, care and respect for the rights of all children. I look forward to working with our Busy Bees at Bentley Park community and striving to achieve greatness.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
