Service Manager
Welcome Families, my name is Deborah Powell and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Bentley Park. I have 16 years’ experience working in a variety of roles in the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector.
My career began as I completed high school and discovered I was passionate about working with young children. My training and career began at the local childcare service my youngest sister attended and where I completed a Certificate III followed by a Diploma in Children’s Services.
My overall goal as a Service Manager is to advocate for children’s safety, learning and development in the early years which lays the foundation for children’s lifelong learning.
Busy Bees at Bentley Park pride ourselves on our community approach believing wholeheartedly that “Community is about doing something together that makes belonging matter” – Brian Solis. As a team, we strive to ensure that each person who walks through the door feels a connection to our Service and a sense of belonging to the space. Assistant Service Manager
Hi, my name is Meg Reilly and I am the Assistant Service Manager of Busy Bees at Bentley Park.
I began my childcare journey in 2014, graduating high school with a Certificate III in Children’s Services and Learning. I have worked in a variety of childcare settings along the way, as well as various age groups. I joined the Busy Bees family in November 2020 and have since had the privilege to work in the Junior Kindy room as Lead Educator while completing a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I’m proud to be the Assistant Service Manager — I love this job and the part we, as educators, play in children’s learning and development.
As an educator in early childhood education and care, our involvement in each child’s learning is a paramount foundation for their future abilities. I firmly believe that children need a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to learn and express themselves to allow them to grow. I love watching the learning experiences children create for themselves, and I strongly agree with our centre’s philosophy around children being independent and self-sufficient learners.
I believe that building strong, trusting relationships with children is equally as important as the relationships we build with their families and loved ones. The children’s learning environment should be their home away from home, and somewhere they feel supported and encouraged always.
In my spare time, I love traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I am a proud mum to a daughter and son — and my sausage dog, Peppa.
