Busy Bees at Coorparoo features beautifully designed open plan rooms and a spacious outdoor setting that includes a vegetable and herb garden, sandpit and beautifully planted areas where children are encouraged to ignite their curiosities and sense of discovery.
Conveniently located in the heart of Coorparoo on the corner of Harries Road above the Woolworths Shopping Complex, the Service was developed to ensure that children are being provided with exciting opportunities and challenges for them to play and grow in an innovative and stimulating environment where their individuality can be nurtured by dedicated Educators.
Busy Bees at Coorparoo encompasses an innovative approach which is based on the discovery and exploration of respectful relationships with children. We follow this philosophy and offer children uninterrupted time for play, plenty of freedom, a calm and relaxed environment, cooperative relationships, and our full attention.
Our funded Kindergarten program is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to getting your child ready for their next big steps in school. We work in partnership with you to make their transition to school successful. Our child-led curriculum is designed to build confident and active learners, using a holistic approach to education that combines school readiness with learning experiences that foster your child’s social and emotional development.
We’ve developed the Busy Bees learning program with the help of childcare specialists, curriculum experts and Early Years Advisors at our Centre Support Office. It’s jam-packed with unique and stimulating activities you won’t find anywhere else!
Quality early learning does more than just prepare children to become eager school students — it builds resilience, vital social skills and independence.

Service Manager
Hello, my name is Miranda Ricketts and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Coorparoo.
I was previously working with staff here at Coorparoo and across Brisbane as a mentor for their programming, but I was inspired by the team and operations to take on the role of Service Manager. I am returning from maternity leave from a previous centre where I was the Service Manager for 4 years.
I have been in the Early Childhood and Care industry for 6 years and started as a Kindergarten teacher. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary teaching. I passionately believe that the early childhood sector is the most important years of a child’s development.
I am looking forward to welcoming you to our Busy Bees family at Coorparoo.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Esther Withers and I am the Assistant Service Manager at Busy Bees at Coorparoo. I have been working in childcare for the past 14 years. I love working with children and enjoy the early years’ industry. I have a Diploma in Children’s Studies and I’m studying my Bachelor of Primary Education and Certificate 3 in Education Support.
I enjoy guiding children through life’s adventures and being an early year’s Educator. Working with children is very rewarding and I enjoy working every day. I strive to do my best every day and help mold our young children to assist them with their future through school and adulthood
As an Educator, I seek to form close relationships with each child under my care, and their families. I strive to model respect, patience, and care for children and adults I come in contact with. I strive to provide an environment where children and families from different cultural backgrounds feel welcomed and accepted.
I believe that as an early childhood educator I am responsible for providing infants, toddlers and young children with positive learning experiences. Children have the right to have their needs met and receive the proper education while in the care of their caregivers. Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. Children are curious from infancy and have the desire to learn from their environment and those around them. In relation to caring for children, I aim to implement the Being Belonging and Becoming Early Years Learning Framework and create an environment that reflects on the children’s needs and interests.
In my spare time, I enjoy art with water paints being my favourite medium. I love live music events and travel. I also enjoy spending as much family time as I can and being with friends. I have a very cheeky puppy at home who is my life and I love to go on outings with her all the time.
I’m always kept informed of my sons day and receive many photos. My son loves his day care so much, he’s even asks if he can go on the weekends! At pick-up time he never wants to leave, especially if he’s in the huge sandpit. I’ve actually moved houses and live right next door to another childcare but I still drive him to this one because it’s so good. I’ve had another baby now and when the time comes for him to go to childcare I won’t take him anywhere else. Busy Bees at Coorparoo is the only place for us!
It's a great centre — especially outside play offerings, great size rooms, in house chef, easy access with Woolies downstairs, diverse program planning (sustainability, sign language, First Nations culture) and great centre/family community.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
