At our Diggers Rest day care, our philosophy focuses on the Reggio Emilia Approach, which values children as strong, capable, and resilient learners with an abundance of wonder. Our play-based and child-led learning program offers children uninterrupted time for play, plenty of freedom, a calm and relaxed environment, cooperative relationships, and our full attention. We believe the learning environments act as the ‘third teacher’ encouraging children to investigate and use their imagination and creativity through play.
Our Diggers Rest childcare is proud to be inclusive of all cultures and diverse backgrounds, to create a strong sense of belonging. Our team of multicultural and bilingual Educators — Greek, Macedonian, and Indian — love to share their languages and cultures with the children. The children are given the opportunity to extend their learning through our community library, and our pen pal program with other local Diggers Rest day care centres and kindergartens.
Our Diggers Rest Kindergarten is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to getting your child set for their next big steps in school. We work in partnership with you to make their transition to school successful. Service Manager
Hello, my name is Kate and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Diggers Rest.
I have worked in the sector for the past 13 years. Over this time, I have enjoyed several roles including Educator, Mentor, Educational Leader, Assistant Manager and Centre Manager being my role over the last few years.
My passion is creating a warm and rich environment, as well as mentoring and empowering my team to deliver the best outcomes for our centre, families, our local community and most importantly our children.
I believe all children are unique and have the right to belong, learn, grow and develop into young children who feel safe and happy within their environment. I believe that children all learn at their own pace and that we offer experiences and activities that are inviting, engaging and allow space and opportunities for children to navigate, problem solve and build strong social and emotional connections.
I truly believe that being a part of children’s early learning years is a privilege and each day brings new adventures.
I have three sons: 23, 21 and 16. We are an active family with my boys all involved in our local football, golf, and basketball clubs. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, sports, reading and the beach.
