Service Manager
Hi, my name is Mel and I’m the Service Manager here at Busy Bees at East Fremantle.
I live with my partner and three wonderful children. In my spare time, I’m out with my children—playing and coaching basketball with my son, and supporting my daughter’s netball goals. I also love to sit and read/watch a good true story.
I’ve been working in the childcare sector since I was 15 years old where I completed a traineeship and my Certificate III in Children’s Services. Several years later I completed my Diploma, taking some time off in between for a few years to pursue other career options and studies where I completed and worked as a nursing assistant and Phlebotomist while I raised my family. As my children started to grow older, I knew it was time for me to get back into the work environment I’m most passionate about.
Coming into Busy Bees at East Fremantle as the Service Manager has been a wonderful experience, with Busy Bees showing so much support and understanding. The Service itself gives all the families and educators a warm, cosy, family feel which is very important.
I aim to provide children with the highest quality of care by allowing each child to develop and grow in a home away from home environment which is warm and nurturing.
I believe each child is an individual and will continue to value and build on each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning while providing a sense of belonging in a fun and harmonious play-based environment where all children feel safe and secure.
I will strive to continue to provide a positive environment where everyone from employees, children, parents, and the community are always made to feel welcomed, heard and respected regardless of race, gender, religion or cultural beliefs.
I will continue to strive to develop and maintain collaborative and open partnerships with families through open communication where respect and confidentiality is key and participation is valued.
