At Busy Bees at Georges Hall, our philosophy focuses on the discovery and exploration of respectful relationships with children. We believe that children are capable and confident learners who can drive their own learning through questioning, exploring and interpreting the world around them. We offer children uninterrupted time for play, plenty of freedom, a calm and relaxed environment, cooperative relationships, and our full attention.
Conveniently located on the grounds of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, our Georges Hall childcare has a strong family focus. We are known for our community outreach and have strong links with the local school, Miracle Babies, Ronald McDonald House and Little Wings. Our close-knit team of bilingual Educators — Croatian, Greek, Vietnamese, Arabic, Bengali, Italian, Nepalese, Indonesian, Hindi, Maltese — love to share their languages and cultures with the children. We focus on teaching sustainability and respect for the environment through our worm farm, vegetable garden and dedicated Sustainability Officer.
Our preschool in Georges Hall is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to getting your child set for their next big steps in school. Service Manager
My name is Ellyn Robertson, and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at Georges Hall.
I hold a Master of Teaching (birth to 5 years) and have been working at Busy Bees at Georges Hall for 10 years. During my time here I have been in many roles including before and after school care, Lead Educator, Educational Leader and now the Service Manager.
Research suggests that the first five years of a child’s life is when the child’s brain develops faster than ever, children begin to see, hear, and make sense of the world around them. As an Early Childhood Educator, it is valuable that we provide the children with the ability to create the foundations for their overall learning, health, and development.
During my time away from the Service I enjoy spending time with my husband as well as my immediate and extended family. Whether it be a family BBQ or just hanging out together.
I look forward to meeting you and your child!
Assistant Service Manager
Hi, my name is Adriana Grubisic and I am the 2IC of Busy Bees at Georges Hall. I have been working at our day care in Georges Hall since April 2011. I hold a Diploma of Children’s Services and have almost finished my Bachelor of Education (birth – 5 years).
I believe that the equality of education a child receives in early life is indispensable in bringing out children’s potential and that all children should have access to quality learning and care. I believe each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating environment.
I come from a Croatian background, and I am the eldest of two children. I enjoy travelling, playing netball, and spending time with my husband and two young daughters.
I wouldn't leave my children any where else. I know they are safe here, well cared for, loved and are having the time of their lives. Their care shines through seeing how much my kids adore the staff. Would recommend time and time again!
The staff are very warm, friendly and approachable. The first day, I called about 3 times to check in and each time they made me feel heard and valued. The way they speak to the children and to the parents (just as important) is lovely and genuine. I have had encounters with at least 6 of the staff members there so far, and all have been exactly who I want around my child — so friendly and loving.
Regular communication, the place is clean, parking is easy, smiles everywhere, kids being responded to when upset, a family like feel — I honestly can't fault them so far.
The feeling I get from this place is that they treat the kids like their own. They go above and beyond their job description, and I'm so grateful for that. It takes away the mum guilt and nerves we all feel when needing day care.
Something I really enjoy about Busy Bees at Georges Hall are the events that the centre puts on through out the year. They have great initiative when it comes to building links with the community, and these events are a great time for this. Thank you to the Managers and staff for showing my daughter the love and care I would give her.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
