Busy Bees at Gilles Plains welcomes you with beautifully designed learning spaces and natural outdoor environments — with sandpits, a bike track, a nature yard, a mud pit, and a vegetable and herb garden — where children are encouraged to ignite their sense of curiosity and discovery.
At Busy Bees at Gilles Plains, your child will benefit from:
At our Gilles Plains childcare, we believe children are capable and competent learners and our programs are child-led, extending on children’s current knowledge and experiences. We provide a stimulating child-centred and flexible learning program with open-ended environments to nurture each child’s individuality, helping them to learn and grow at their own pace, in their own way. Our environments ensure we can provide indoor-outdoor play as often as possible allowing the children to engage in experiences from both areas.
We strive to foster a culture of inclusion at our Gilles Plains childcare where the needs, interests and cultural beliefs of our families are respected and supported. As a multicultural community, we strive to provide traditional cultural experiences, assisting in the development of cultural respect and acceptance. We speak multiple languages — Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Igbo, Sinhala and Vietnamese— and focus on forming a circle of security with each child and family. The children are given the opportunity to extend their learning through the Happy Feet Fitness program on Tuesdays that combines dance, music and the joy of active play (optional paid extra).
Our Gilles Plains Preschool offers a government funded program led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to getting your child set for their next big steps in school. We work in partnership with you to make their transition to school successful. Our quality learning programs are designed to build resilience, vital social skills and independence, while preparing children with all the essentials they need to take their next big steps in school and life.
We would love to have you join our Busy Bees family at Gilles Plains. We look forward to meeting your family! Book your tour today.

Service Manager
Hi, my name is Anantbir Kaur Sohi, and I am the Service Manager of Busy Bees at Gilles Plains.
I have been working at Gilles Plains for eight years, and being with children and contributing to their early intervention years has been my passion since day one. I joined Busy Bees at Gilles Plains in 2014, and year after year, I mastered my skills working with the children as a team leader across all the rooms of different age groups. I have performed an extensive leadership role within our Service for over six years, and I am proud to be working alongside a strong leadership team.
I believe that any work you do should be done passionately and smartly. Reflecting on your practices at the end of each day is essential to make improvements and strive through everything you do.
I feel successful every day when I see the children happy, engaging with each other and going home safely. Our children, educators, and families’ health and mental well-being are paramount to me. I believe in building strong connections within our Hive and our community to get the best outcome for the children. I believe that each child is different, and they have individual rights to learn and develop their skills, therefore, we, educators, always should be there for the children to foster their strengths and celebrate differences.
“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.” – Robert John Meehan.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my two beautiful children and my husband. I also have a passion for gardening.
We have built many great relationships with educators there. It’s great to have that rapport as honest communication is key when it comes to the safety, well-being and education of little ones. 100% recommend.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
