Service Manager
Hello and welcome to Busy Bees at Glenroy! My name is Grace and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Glenroy.
A little about me: I moved to Melbourne seven years ago and I have three cheeky children of my own. I began my journey in the early childhood sector in 2016 and since then gained my Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood Education.
Like many of you, I am a local to the Glenroy area and I am passionate about connecting with our diverse community and adapting and improving early education for the benefit of our little ones and growing connections within our community. At Busy Bees at Glenroy, we consider that the supportive network we provide is our super strength — promoting strong connections between children, educators, families and the community.
One of the exciting offerings I introduced at the end of 2022 and have embed in the 2023 curriculum, is teaching and sharing Auslan (Australian sign language) with the children through everyday learning, play, music and stories. Auslan is the language of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community here in Australia.
Why Auslan? As a Hard of Hearing person myself, I am excited about sharing this language. There are many benefits to learning Auslan, which include enhanced educational and personal development, increased memory retention and motion processing, and increased enjoyment in communication. Learning Auslan provides another pathway for children to use their voice and express themselves.
Music with Mary continues into 2023! Wonderful Mary, a local music teacher, has been sharing her passion and knowledge of music with the children weekly for the last 4 years. The children look forward to and animatedly enjoy every Music with Mary session. Mary comes to our Service twice a week.
Please get in touch if you have any questions about these programs or you would like to share your own ideas for future programs.
Assistant Service Manager
Hi, my name is Casey and I am the Assistant Service Manager for Busy Bees at Glenroy. I have been at our service for 12 years.
My aim is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment that is respectful and supportive to all children, families, and educators. I believe in creating a learning environment that is inclusive of children’s interests, developmental needs and voices, as well as family input, professional/specialist input, the National Quality Framework, and the National Early Years Learning. This allows children to explore a variety of opportunities to benefit their overall development and reach their full potential.
I am looking forward to welcoming you to our family at Busy Bees at Glenroy.
I have had my kids attending the centre for 3 years now and have continued to be impressed with their service, responsiveness and flexibility.
Undoubtedly, we miss the warmth, activities, engagements and experience that we had in Gladstone and none of the other places were able to match our expectations (in the other two day cares that we tried after). The staff at Gladstone were so friendly, available when we needed and responsive to requests. Undoubtedly, these were reasons that the parents were not only from the local neighbourhood of Glenroy but even from distant areas. Overall it's a great place to send kids and we will highly recommend it to everyone.
The centre has a real family and community feel, and they do lots of wonderful events involving the parents throughout the year. My daughter has learnt so much since starting here and she only attends twice a week. I would highly recommend this centre.
Thank you for looking after my beautiful boy. It's hard to find somewhere you can trust to have your child in care all day. Highly recommend this place!
