Busy Bees at Kilburn welcomes you with six spacious learning environments with their own beautiful outside areas tailored for each age group — with sandpits, forts, slides, chalkboards, a cubby house, a hand water pump, climbing equipment and natural logs for balance play — where children are encouraged to ignite their sense of curiosity and discovery.
At Busy Bees at Kilburn, your child will benefit from:
Our child care centre in childcare follows a play-based learning approach with an inquiry-based program that extends on children’s interests and promotes inclusion and collaboration. We offer children uninterrupted time for play, a calm and relaxed environment, open-ended experiences, large and small group play, and indoor and outdoor invitations to play. We focus on teaching sustainability through caring for our gardens, and the use of natural and recycled materials.
Conveniently located on Churchill Road, our purpose-built child care centre in Kilburn strives to provide a welcoming, nurturing, and engaging environment with a sense of belonging for all. We love to celebrate and learn from our families’ differences in cultures, goals, rituals and routines. Our bilingual Educators — Chinese, Punjabi, Hindi, Sinhalese, French, Dari, Bengali, Tagalog, Spanish, Japanese, Persian, Gujarati, and Marathi — love to share their languages and cultures with the children.
We provide progressive meal times, allowing the children to finish their play before eating, to build their independence. We believe meal times are an opportunity to build self-help skills by allowing the children to set the table, serve themselves, make healthy eating choices, and wash their hands and faces.
Our Kilburn Preschool program is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is committed to getting your child set for their next big steps in school. We work in partnership with you to make their transition to school successful. Our quality learning programs are designed to build resilience, vital social skills and independence, while preparing children with all the essentials they need to take their next big steps in school and life.
We’d love for you to join our Busy Bees family at Kilburn. We look forward to meeting your family! Book your tour today.

Service Manager
Hi, my name is Renee and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at Kilburn.
I have been working in the childcare sector for the last 20 years. During this time, I worked in various roles ranging from Qualified Assistant to Team Leader to Assistant Director and then as a Service Manager. This has provided me with deep knowledge of childcare, and the skills and tools I need to succeed in leading and mentoring a team.
I love building quality relationships with staff, children and families, guiding great practice, and finally making a welcoming culture that feels like a second family.
When I became a mum, I really realised how much of a village it takes to raise a child. All I ever wanted for my child was to know he was cared for by people who genuinely loved him and wanted the best for him. This is what drives me as a Service Manager. I truly believe that amazing Educators are led and guided from the top, and I want to be a person who helps my co-workers with their learning, listens to their needs and supports them to get the knowledge and tools they need to help families. Always ensuring that the children are cared for like I would want my own child to be cared for. Every day is different, and the children bring so much joy and wonder to everyone.
I love spending time with my family, watching and being part of my son’s footy and basketball teams as a team manager. On weekends, we like going up to the Yorke Peninsula for a day spent fishing, boating and spending time at the beach.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Tracey Perkin and I am the Assistant Service Manager for Busy Bees at Kilburn.
I have over 5 years experience in the early childhood industry, starting out in OSHC and then moving into childcare. I am dedicated and passionate about the industry and I believe early childhood education is vital to giving children the best start in life. I have two of my own children and becoming a mum ignited my passion in early learning and working with children.
I love spending my days being creative and getting messy with the children. My role as Assistant Director gives me the opportunity to work on the floor and be a fantastic Educator, as well as have a voice in management and the everyday growth of the Service.
When I am not at work I love spending time with my family, pets and friends as well as travelling.
