Service Manager
Hello, my name is Cassandra Yerasimou and I am the Service Manager for Busy Bees at Noarlunga Downs. I’m very blessed to have had extensive experience in many roles over my time here at Noarlunga Downs from student, Assistant Educator, Lead Educator and 2IC to Service Manager. I believe that children should be treated respectfully and embraced as individuals with their own unique learning styles, abilities, and personalities.
Their early years learning environment should be rich with opportunities for children to investigate, interact, have fun, and be stimulated from a very early age as this is the critical time for brain development. Children should be encouraged to be respectful of their environment, polite in their interactions with others, and embrace the similarities and differences of those around them. Children’s curiosity, exploration and energy should be encouraged and fostered to help them become enthusiastic involved learners.
I pride myself on leading a successful team by empowering them to achieve their own goals, which in turn creates an atmosphere where Educators are engaged, and children have meaningful and respectful relationships in an environment where families have confidence in those caring for and educating their children.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my fiancé and going on adventures. I’m a family-oriented person and enjoy spending time with those who are important to me. I have a passion for fitness and enjoy going to the gym.
I look forward to meeting your family, and caring for and educating your children.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Shaye Stephens, and I am the Assistant Service Manager at Busy Bees at Noarlunga Downs. I have worked in the Early Childhood Industry for many years and throughout my time I have been lucky to work with a variety of ages groups in a range of different roles.
I believe that children are capable, competent, and unique learners. Each child has a right to feel safe, secure, and supported in their learning environments. As an Early Childhood Educator, I believe we need to foster nurturing, respectful, and encouraging relationships that are significant in their development.
Partnerships with families are the foundation of education in the early years, based on open communication and trust. I seek to develop these partnerships through valuing each other’s knowledge and understanding of each child, and the roles each of us play in the child’s life as the saying goes ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ Valuing family to educator relationships will allow us to collaboratively work together, this enables us to discover the potential of each child and develop cultural competence.
Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. Children are curious from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and those around them.
I am inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, recognising and utilising ‘Environments as the Third Teacher’. Based on this theory, I consider it’s extremely important to create a stimulating environment that provides opportunities to engage and foster a sense of ownership and respect along with opportunities for open-ended play, allowing educators to scaffold the children’s learning guided by each child’s individual interests, needs and uniqueness. Learning through play is the foundation of our Service’s curriculum. Our Educational pedagogies and practices incorporate critical reflections and the documentation of each child’s learning.
They provide a wide range of healthy food for my son to enjoy, and plenty of different activities. Overall, my son is always so happy to see the educators in the morning which is enough for me, as it shows that he loves being there.
Kids are encouraged with learning within their play and education is child led. We love this centre, our son really enjoys going and loves his educators. We are so so glad that they have lived up to the standards we had hoped for.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Busy Bees Early Learning acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognises First Nations peoples’ continued cultural and spiritual connections to land, sea, sky and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
