Busy Bees at O’Connor in Perth welcomes you with warm and inviting learning spaces that feel like home. At O’Connor, two neighbouring houses have been transformed into a fantastic Early Learning Service where children are nurtured and inspired to play, learn, discover and have fun.
The Kindergarten has a dedicated house, set up to inspire stimulating research and exploration. Each room is set up to focus on different skill sets (i.e. writing, role play, construction) to support the current learning programs. Children are given the independence to choose the areas that spark their curiosity and how they would like to engage with learning each day.
The spacious outdoor areas incorporate an extensive art studio with access to a wide range of recycled and natural materials, allowing the children to explore their world through art.

Service Manager
Hello, my name is Gemma and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at O’Connor. I have been teaching children for over 10 years, both in the United Kingdom and Australia across both primary school and day care settings.
I am deeply passionate about children’s well-being, education and growth. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming setting for children while providing an environment conducive to growing and learning.
The first five years of every child’s life are crucial for their future success. That’s why I strive to create stimulating learning environments that encourage children to discover, create and feel a sense of self-accomplishment.
As a Service Manager, my goal is to create positive relationships with all children, families and educators so that we can work together to provide high quality care. For children to thrive, they need to feel secure and comfortable in their environment, and this includes the whole family unit. I want to create a Service that is warm, welcoming and full of fun, love and laughter. A place where we can communicate and work together for your child. I wish to provide a feeling that Busy Bees at O’Connor is your home away from home!
My family consists of a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls named Úna and Fiadh — who also attend the Service. I am a music-mad person — I love listening to all types of music! There is always music playing in my house or car. I also play guitar and bass, and love dancing with my girls.
Assistant Service Manager
Hi, my name is Magda and I am the Assistant Service Manager at Busy Bees at O’Connor.
I am so excited to be sharing your child’s early learning journey with you. I have worked in the Early Childhood industry for five years and hold a Diploma in Early Education and Care. During that time, I have worked in various positions including Educator, Lead Educator, OSHC Service Coordinator, and now Assistant Service Manager
My favourite part about being Assistant Director at Busy Bees at O’Connor is that I get to follow my passion for educating young children and mentoring other Educators along the way. I believe in providing a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for all families, children, and staff members. Each child should feel at home and be able to use their imagination and curiosity throughout the day.
During my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, cook, travel the world, and eat amazing food along the way.
Hopefully that says more about the quality of care than my parenting. There is a wonderful team there with lots of very special Educators who genuinely care about the children and also set up lots of stimulating and engaging activities. The garden space has been recently rejuvenated and it's a lovely big space for the children to play with lots of shade for summer. The manager runs the service excellently. Also, the food must be good as my little one eats meals there that she wouldn't eat at home. I would highly recommend to parents looking for a day care in the area.
The manager is a star, and the kids always come home happy (and tired). I would recommend the service to anyone in the area!
The staff are warm and welcoming; the activities are educational and fun; the food is nutritious and yummy; and there is a nice combination of inside rooms and outdoor play areas. My daughter has adapted really well to day care too and I believe this is due to the lovely, attentive, and caring staff. Within a month she was already familiar with the Educators and the environment, and was happily waving bye to me at drop-off. Thank you to Busy Bees at O’Connor for making our first experience with a day care so wonderful! I couldn’t recommend this centre highly enough!
Plus they gave me lots of guidance in caring for and supporting children and their families. Definitely recommend.
