Service Manager
Hello, my name is Mandy and I am the Service Manager at Busy Bees at Pimpama.
I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, and I began training and working in the early childcare industry around 10 years ago after previously working with Senior Students at a Catholic School in Auckland, assisting them with workplace placements and transitions into the workforce.
I am a wife, to my strongest supporter and critic, Karl (married for 33 years) and a mum of two adult children, Emma and Matthew. I am also a fur baby mum to Leo the dog and Prince the cat! Both these fur babies are rescue babies.
I believe that the first five years of a child’s life are so important. They are the very foundation that shape our children’s future health, happiness, growth, development and learning achievement at school, at home and community, as well as life in general.
My favourite quote is “Play turns out to be so stunningly essential to childhood, it’s like love, sunshine and broccoli all juiced together” – Lenore Skenazy. My philosophy is that children of all ages learn naturally through their play. It’s how they explore, make sense of the world, and express their curiosity all whilst having fun.
I take great pride in welcoming all our families to our centre whilst getting to know them, acknowledging that they, as parents, are their child’s first teachers. Spending time in each of our age groups is also something that is important to me — through story times, mealtimes, and general play time.
I have an open door and open communication policy in all my interactions with both families, children, and our team members. I look forward to meeting your family.
Assistant Service Manager
Hello, my name is Lisa and am the 2IC at Busy Bees at Pimpama.
I have been working in the early years’ sector for 30 years. I am originally from Liverpool, UK but have lived in Australia for 18 years. I have my Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and I have had the privilege of working in various roles in the childcare industry.
I am a mum to 3 amazing boys aged 14, 11, and 9 and all are diagnosed with ASD. I am so extremely lucky to be their mum and this has made me very passionate about inclusion, and ensuring every child and colleague feels supported and safe to learn and grow. It is so very rewarding to see educators and children developing their relationships, building trust, and ensuring children feel loved and safe when away from home. All children are extremely unique and special, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing them grow and guiding them every day. I strongly believe that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and supported in a caring and loving environment.
Relationships with families come naturally as I have great communication qualities and respect for all. I am always available and happy to chat and listen to any concerns you may have about your children.
I am looking forward to meeting all our new educators and families, and I can’t wait to welcome you all to our beautiful new Pimpama day care centre.
All the staff genuinely care about my child’s well-being and accommodate my child’s day at daycare to fit in with our routine at home. I wish I had found Busy Bees sooner! Thankyou to all of the incredible staff, you continuously do an amazing job.
